When the East Meets the West-Exploration of Yan Xijun’s Rational and Harmonious Management Thoughts from the Perspective of Management Transplantation and Innovation
DENG Weisheng,XU Hui
Focusing on the common issues of standardization and internationalization which enterprises confront, this study takes the management thoughts of Yan Xijun who in charge of Tasly Group as research subject. Based on theoretical sampling, this study explores and discusses the evolution of Yan Xijun’s rational and harmonious management thoughts and its underlying mechanism based on his management practices and experiences. By analysis, this study concludes that the formation of Yan Xijun’s rational and harmonious management thoughts depends on the genetic route, which is based on the eastern harmonious spirit, the selective route, which is based on the western rational spirit, and two core driving elements of integrated medicine and components research. Furthermore, this paper constructs the evolution and mechanism model of Yan Xijun’s rational and harmonious management thoughts. The research found that: (1) The great health is the inner driving force of the dimensions scaled of Chinese medicine industry, while standardization can not only shape the industry chain composition, but also can be the basis and guarantee of the Chinese medicine market cultivation in countrywide, or even worldwide level. Yan Xijun’s rational and harmonious management thoughts mainly include two core elements: a general health concept and standardization idea; (2) Components research is the core driving element of Chinese medicine enterprises to realize inward management transplantation for overseas. It creates a virtuous circle for theoretical support and research innovation; (3) Integrated medicine is the core driving element of traditional Chinese medicine companies to overcome cultural distances and achieve export-oriented management transplantation, and forms a virtuous circle of mutual promotion between theoretical guidance and practical feedback with the innovation of Chinese medicine business model; (4) The inward management transplantation and the outward management transplantation can coexist and promote each other in the enterprise.

The Positive and Negative Effects of Leader Boundary Spanning Behavior on Follower Performance
SONG Meng,HU Heyan,WANG Zhen,DONG Yujie
The current research focus on the positive and negative effects of leader boundary spanning behavior based on employee perspectives. Using a time-lagged experience sampling methodology, the hypotheses are tested in a sample of 72 Chinese R & D employees who completed twice-daily surveys over 10 workdays. Study results confirm that leader boundary spanning behavior promote employee’s task performance through increasing their knowledge acquisition. In addition, leader boundary spanning behavior also reduce employee’s task performance by increasing their workplace anxiety. Employee’s promotion regulatory focus is found to negatively moderate the positive relationship between leader boundary spanning behavior and employee knowledge acquisition. However, employee’s promotion regulatory focus has no significant moderating effect on the positive relationship between leader boundary spanning behavior and employee workplace anxiety.

The Impact of Innovation Diffusion and Entrepreneurial Network Situational Orientation on Policy Adaptation and Team Cluster Entrepreneurship Performance
XU Chenglei,ZHAO Yaman,ZHANG Yue
This study constructs a theoretical model of policy adaptation to the entrepreneurial performance of team clusters. The study also compares the effects of innovation diffusion and entrepreneurial network situational orientation, which reflect the characteristics of inter-organizational cooperation, on policy adaptation and team cluster entrepreneurship. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 326 entrepreneurial team clusters as a sample. It was found that policy adaptation can significantly affect the performance of team cluster entrepreneurship, and the different combinations of innovation diffusion and entrepreneurial network context orientation play a regulatory role. The research shows that whether in the entrepreneurial individual and single organization entrepreneurial level or in the inter-organizational cooperation level of the team cluster, only when presenting the diffusion of innovation structure characteristics, the adaptation to current entrepreneurial policies can promote the performance of team cluster entrepreneurship. However, under the external-led entrepreneurial network scenario-oriented, only when presenting the innovative or cognitive diffusion characteristics, the adaptation to future policies can promote the performance of the team cluster entrepreneurship.

FAN Jianfeng,ZHAO Qiuru,TIAN Zhilong
This study examines whether pre-events CSR and post-events CSR can provide insurance effects and restoration effects for the shareholders’ wealth of firms during occurrence of negative events by the event study methodology, based on the Chinese companies. The results show that pre-events CSR can provide insurance-like effects on the stock prices of firms in negative events if they have performed CSR for a long time and continuously before the events. Differing from CSR’s insurance-like effects, both the short-term and the long-term post-events CSR can provide restoration effects on firms in negative events. The long-term CSR of the competitors has a significant negative impact on CSR insurance effects and the short-term CSR of the competitors does not. The long- and short-term CSR of the competitors has a significant negative impact on CSR restoration effects.

Cash Dividends and Earnings Management in China
JIA Qiaoyu,ZHOU Jia’nan
Taking into account the particularity of China’s capital market, this study examines whether managers manipulate earnings upward to avoid cash dividend declines when they anticipate that cash dividend will fall short of the prior year’s cash dividend. This study finds that managers use earnings management to avoid dividend declines when pre-managed earnings fall short of the prior year’s cash dividend. Earnings management aiming to close that difference can reduce the probability of a dividend cut. This study further examines the information content of cash dividend increases based on manipulated and unmanipulated earnings, and finds that dividend increases based on unmanipulated earnings contain information about future unexpected earnings, while dividend increases based on manipulated earnings contain no information about future unexpected earnings and continuous dividend increases based on manipulated earnings will damage the firm’s future development.

Historical Imprinting and Entrepreneurship Research: Taking Stock and Moving Forward
YANG Fan,GE Jianhua,ZHU Di
By integrating and analyzing the literature, this study first proposes an integrated framework of imprinting by considering the two phases of imprinting generation and reproduction, as well as five elements including imprint sources, imprinted entities, sensitive periods, imprinting mechanisms and imprinting outcomes. Using this framework, we take stock of research on imprinting and entrepreneurship. Our review suggests that more research is in need in the areas including the interactions among multiple imprints, the dynamics within the lasting influences of imprint, and the political inquiry in the imprinting process and mechanism. Moreover, we offer insights into future research within the context of China’s transitional society.
