Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of two training methods on four types of skin injuries in the elderly for nurses from tertiary grade A hospitals in different regions before participating in multicenter study, and to provide reference for selecting appropriate training methods. Methods Thirty-four tertiary grade A hospitals in 19 provinces, or autonomous regions or municipalities were recruited as multicenter study units. A total of 766 nurses as participants were included and divided into group A and B. Nurses (n=523) in group A received online training combined with video training, and those (n=243) in group B the video training. The training content was the same in the two groups, including four types of skin injuries, stages (category), judgment basis and examination methods. A test paper of 60 questions including 20 photos of four types skin injuries in the elderly were used for evaluating the training effect through Wechat one week after the training, and nurses were required to submit the paper online within 1 hour. The rate of participating in the training and the test, and the average score was observed. Results All the nurses completed the training and online examination. The total average score and the average score of four types of skin injuries in the elderly in the two groups showed no statistical significance (all P>0.05). Conclusion The two training methods have similar effects and are appropriate for in-service training for nurses from hospitals in different regions before the multicenter study.
