Development of Triage Tool for Patients with Acute Non-traumatic Chest Pain Based on HEART Score

Abstract: Objective To develop a triage tool for patients with acute non-traumatic chest pain by scientific method, and to provide reference for emergency practice. Methods Based on HEART score and literature review, the data of patients with acute non-traumatic chest pain in a tertiary grade A hospital in Gansu province were retrospectively analyzed. Delphi method was used to investigate 22 experts of emergency nursing management, critical and critical care, clinical or nursing work in the department of cardiology by two rounds of letters, and the weight of indexes were determined. Results The effective recovery rate of two-round consultation was 100%; expert authority coefficient 0.931 and 0.832, and kendal harmony coefficients 0.223 and 0.305 (P<0.001). The final triage tool for patients with acute non-traumatic chest pain consisted of 10 first-level and 36 second-level indicators. Conclusion The triage tool for patients with acute non-traumatic chest pain is scientific and reliable, which provides objective basis for improving efficiency of emergency chest pain triage.
