1261 The Paradox of the Ambidextrous Missions of the Academic Entrepreneur of Contextualized Chinese Management Studies and Its Solutions: Illustrated by the Case of Human Resource Management Discipline
HUANG Jie, CHENG Dejun
Based on the perspective of academic entrepreneur, this paper illustrates the formation mechanism of the paradox of the ambidextrous missions of the academic entrepreneur of contextualized Chinese management studies by integrating the characteristics of academic field into the analytical framework of the contextualization of Chinese management studies. In the case of human resource management discipline, this paper tries to find evidence for the formation mechanism through the bibliometric analysis of human resource management literatures over the period 2014~2019 and the text analysis of specialist opinions of the 14th Five-Year Plan for human resource management. Further, this paper explores the potential solutions to the paradox of the ambidextrous missions under profound changers unseen in a century. It shows that the heterogeneity between Chinese and western culture and Chinese management studies’being off at the edge of the managerial academic field, rather than the supposed existence of inherent vices of contextualized Chinese management studies, intensify the contradictions of the ambidextrous missions leading to the formation of paradox. It is also found that the technology-oriented contextualization is more competent than the culture-oriented contextualization in solving the paradox of the ambidextrous missions.

1273 The Development of “Bildung” Constructs and Its Significance in Chinese Indigenous Leadership Research
KONG Jianan,GUO Yi
Based on the integration of existing research, this study guides the development of “bildung” constructs with reference to grounded theory attitudes towards to treat problems and data and its coding method. The research shows that the connotation of “bildung” is “self-development”, which refers to the process of internal spiritual transformation and self-consciousness development of the objects of bildung under the strategic guidance, stimulation, and nurtures of the subjects (organizations or individuals). The extension of “bildung” includes the following four aspects: the process of bildung (spiritual practice and gradual intangibility), the characteristics of bildung (internal and external integration and nurturing of humanities), the strategy of bildung (self-bildung and making the best use of the situation), and the result of bildung (overall value). In addition, it discusses the significance of “bildung” as a kind of leadership in explaining the phenomenon of organizational leadership in the context of China’s special cultural system.

1280 Research on the Impact of ISO 14001 Environmental Certification on Firms’ Total Factor Productivity
YU Lianchao,DONG Jinting,ZHANG Weiguo,BI Qian
his study examines the impact of ISO 14001 environmental certification on firms’ total factor productivity using empirical data of heavily polluting enterprises in Shanghai and Shenzhen A-shares from 2008 to 2019. The results show that ISO 14001 environmental certification can significantly improve firms’ total factor productivity. The exploration of the influence mechanism finds that the influence mechanism of ISO 14001 environmental certification on firms’ total factor productivity lies in promoting the technological progress of enterprises, but not in optimizing the resource allocation of enterprises, which means the incentive effect of ISO 14001 environmental certification is strong while the constraint effect is weak. The analysis of the regulatory environment and competitive environment finds that the positive effect of ISO 14001 environmental certification on firms’ total factor productivity is more significant when environmental standards are higher, environmental supervision is stronger and market competition is stronger.

1288 Research on the Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on Stock Market Reactions to Violation Events
ZHANG Danni,LIU Chunlin
This study sheds light on the type of crisis identified upon attributions of crisis responsibility, and aims to investigate the effect of a firm’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance on stock market reaction at the onset of violation events based on expectancy violation theory. The study adopts Heckman model and finds that the higher the CSR report rating, the greater the negative reaction of investors at the onset of violation events. Besides, from the perspective of firms’ market resources and political resources, the research finds that CSR ratings have a more significant negative impact on market reactions for firms with high redundant resources, SOEs and enterprises with executive political connections.

1297 Impact of State Ownership Participation on Private Enterprises’ Environmental Responsibility
YU Han,SONG Zengji,SONG Ciji
This study regards the state ownership in private enterprises as an important political connection mechanism, takes the private listed firms in the high-polluting industries in A-share from 2012 to 2019 as the research object, and empirically examines the impact of state ownership on firm’s fulfilling environmental responsibility. The study found that: ①state ownership can effectively promote firm to fulfill its environmental responsibility. At the same time, state ownership plays a more obvious role than entrepreneurs’ participation in politics in environmental responsibility fulfillment of firm. ②After distinguishing the economic environment of the city where the firm is located, the positive impact of state ownership on environmental responsibility fulfillment of firm in the regions with lower levels of economic development is more significant. In addition, further research found that when considering the policy risks faced by firms, state ownership plays a type of “ballast stone”role in firms, which can effectively weaken the negative impact of policy uncertainty on firms’ fulfilling environmental responsibilities.

1316 A Configuration Analysis Study on Inspiring Employees’ Pro-Environmental Behavior Based on Person-Context Interaction Perspective
JIA Junyun,ZHANG Shujie,TANG Guiyao,ZHANG Zhonghao
From the perspective of person-context interaction, this study used configuration analysis to interpret the synergy mechanism of contextual factors, including organization environmental orientation and green human resource management, and individual factors, including employee commitment, employee environmental passion, and education, on employees’ pro-environmental behavior through fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) method. This study found that there are 6 equivalent paths stimulating employees’ pro-environmental behavior which could be divided into three types, including employee self-driven, organization environmental orientation driven, and green human resource management regulated. The collaborative interaction between individual factors and context factors is crucial to inspire employees’ pro-environmental behavior, and the synergistic interaction between the two can stimulate employees’ green behavior better. Besides, there are substitution effects among individual factors, context factors, and both of them.

1325 A Study on the Moderating Differences of Different Paths of Ego-Depletion on the Influence of Moral Leadership on Employees’ Moral Voice
ZHAO Shusong,MEI Yuanyuan
Based on social learning theory and social exchange theory, a moderated dual mediation model was constructed through 318 sample data at two time points to explore the influence mechanism and moderating differences of ethical leadership on employees’ moral voice. The results of the study shows that ethical leadership affects employees’ moral voice through two paths of leader-member exchange and moral model identification; ego depletion has different moderating effects on the second half of the two mediating paths. Specifically, ego depletion has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between leader-member exchange and moral voice, while it has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between moral role model identification and moral voice. Further testing confirms that ego depletion also has different moderating effects on the mediating effect of the two pathways.

1336 Research on the Mechanism of Leader’s Unethical Pro-Organizational Behavior on Employee’s Bottom-Line Mentality: Based on the Self-Determination Theory
XIONG Tianren,ZHAN Xiaojun
Based on self-determination theory, collecting three-wave data from 356 employees, this study discusses the boundary conditions and mechanism of leader’s unethical pro-organizational behavior on employee’s bottom-line mentality. The results show that leader’s unethical pro-organizational behavior can promote employee’s bottom-line mentality, and employee’s harmonious passion plays a mediating role in this relationship. In addition, employee’s family motivation not only positively adjusts the direct relationship between leader’s unethical pro-organizational behavior and employee’s harmonious passion, but also moderates the indirect relationship between leader’s unethical pro-organizational behavior and employee’s bottom-line mentality via employee’s harmonious passion.

1345 A Configurational Approach to the Intrapreneurship Performance Based on the Perspective of Optimal Distinctiveness
GUO Changwei,WANG Fengbin,ZHU Yali,QU Qingyun
Based on the perspective of optimal distinctiveness, this study explores how the intrapreneurial units matches its autonomy strategy and conformity strategy with the context of relational embeddedness and strategic logic, so as to form a variety of configurations leading to high performance of intrapreneurial units. Using the fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to perform a configurational analysis on the questionnaire data from 25 intrapreneurial units, this study shows that: ①Exploitative units should adopt the conformity configuration when they are embedded in their parent company, but their combination with autonomous strategies when de-embedding can lead to an out-of-rein configuration that lacks legitimacy;②Exploratory units should take care of both autonomy and conformity strategy with relational embedding, and using the autonomy configuration with relational disembedding;③Ambidextrous units should adopt the autonomy configuration when they are embedded, but should not adopt the conformity strategy blindly when they are disembedded.

1354 The Interplay of Strategic Alliance Governance and Firms’ Breakthrough Innovation
ZHANG Hua,GU Xin
Building on the theory of transaction cost and relational exchange, this study uses survey data from 320 Chinese manufacturing firms to investigate the mechanism of strategic alliance governance on value co-creation and firms’ breakthrough innovation, and to analyze the moderating effect of knowledge coupling on the above relationship. The results demonstrate that contractual governance and relational governance of strategic alliance are positively correlated with firms’ breakthrough innovation, and the effect of relational governance is better than contractual governance. We also find that the three dimensions of value co-creation (e.g., joint planning, joint problem solving, and cooperative flexibility) partly mediate the relationship between strategic alliance governance mechanisms and firms’ breakthrough innovation, the degree of mediating effect is ranked in descending order of joint problem solving, cooperative flexibility, and joint planning. In addition, the knowledge coupling of alliance members not only strengthens the positive relationship between value co-creation and firms’ breakthrough innovation, but also enhances the mediating role of value co-creation.

1363 The Impact of Gamification Goal-Orientation on Public Health Training Systems Effectiveness under Time Pressure
LI Manning,SHAO Huiqi,JIANG Zhongzhong,WANG Yancheng
Surrounding self-determination theory, this study explores the impact of gamification goal-orientation (learning goals vs. performance goals) in virtual public health training system on users’ training performance (subjective and objective) and their adherence tendency, and verifies the proposed research model through empirical experiments. The results show that different goal-orientation can significantly affect the inner motivations of public health training system users, including perceived autonomy, competence and relevance, and ultimately affect user training performance and compliance tendency. Besides, while under time pressure, users in the learning-oriented goal training environment have better stress tolerance in terms of personal perceived competence than those in the performance-oriented goal training environment.

1373 Persuasive Effects of Voice Features and Text Strategies
LIU Dewen,GAO Weihe,MIN Liangyu
A machine learning approach was used to measure the sound characteristics of 311 sound previews of business and finance paid knowledge products on the Himalaya FM platform and to explore the impact of sound characteristics on dual products performance. It was found that warmth perception and competence perception of the previewed voice positively influenced consumer engagement, and competence perception and dominance perception positively influenced product sales. Meanwhile, text strategy played a moderating role in the persuasive effect of sound features. In addition, warmth perception and competence perception of previewed voice have a positive interaction effect on consumer engagement. Further robustness tests found that after replacing the regression method, adding a control variable, and excluding endogeneity explanations, the three perceptions of sound previews still had a relatively stable effect on engagement and sales.

1382 Buffer Determination Method of Critical Chain Project Based on Bonus and Penalty Mechanism
ZHANG Junguang,WANG Meihua
To improve the comprehensive performance of project, this study proposes a buffer determination method by considering the perception of bonus and penalty of the manager. Based on the bonus and penalty mechanism, this method analyzes the impact of each activity manager’s perception of bonus and penalty mechanism on their reported work schedule. According to the situation of buffer determination, three reference points are selected, and the comprehensive value function and weight decision function of different activity managers are determined by using prospect theory. The comprehensive cumulative prospect value of each activity at different completion time is calculated, and the activity duration corresponding to the maximum prospect value is selected as the activity benchmark duration. Then, the safety time is extracted, and the project buffer is determined. Monte Carlo simulation is used to verify the method. The simulation results show that this method can effectively improve the overall performance of the project and reduce the buffer consumption. Also, the on-time completion rate and project management efficiency are improved.

1391 Final Production and Remanufacturing Decisions for Spare Parts after Closing Production Line
SHI Xiaoqian,DONG Shuangshuang,ZHENG Meimei
Faced with the uncertain demand for spare parts after closing the production line, the manufacturer can manage the spare parts inventory in two ways: the final production of new spare parts before the production closure and remanufacturing strategy. A two-period production decision model is developed. When the production line is about to closed, the manufacturer generates a single final production plan of new spare parts and collects the used parts. After closing the production line, the manufacturer can replenish spare parts through remanufacturing. The optimal production quantity of new spare parts and optimal collection rate of used spare parts are characterized through backward induction. The results demonstrated the manufacturer in Period 1 is not always willing to prepare for remanufacturing. The threshold of willingness for manufacturer to participate in the remanufacturing strategy in Period 1 is also derived. Additionally, numerical experiments are conducted to explore the value of the remanufacturing strategy under different settings. The implications in this study can help to promote the application of remanufacture in spare parts management.

1399 Implicit Government Subsidy, Local Government Bond Pricing and Banks’ Local Bond Allocation
ZHENG Changjun,CHEN Shiying,QIAN Ningyu
On the basis of multi-unit auction theory, this study explores the collusion and games between local governments and banks around local government bonds. By constructing a theoretical model, the study finds that: the implicit government subsidy significantly reduces the issuance interest rate of local government bonds. However, local governments reintroduce profits outside tendering through local resources reconfiguration. Local governments subsidize the interest of the bidding banks and increase the profits of participating banks. Therefore, it enables the banks to allocate more local government bonds, which ties the interests of local governments and banks more closely. Under the current institutional arrangement, local governments will intervene in local bond issuance selectively and moderately only when risks are perceived. As collaborators, local governments have the incentive and ability to intervene in the issuance of local government bonds. In some cases, the regulations that central government holds local governments officials accountable have instead served as an incentive for local governments to intervene in bond issuance. Therefore, it is necessary to further deepen the reform of local debt governance system and optimize bank asset allocation, so as to build a benign interactive relationship between local governments and banks.

1409 Research on the Impact of Employee Stock Ownership Plans on Stock Price Crash Risk: From Policy Design Perspective
GUAN Yueqin,YU Xiaohong,LI Jingjing,XIN Yu
Based on the agency theory and policy design perspective, this study investigates the influence and mechanism of employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) on firms’ future stock price crash risk. The empirical results show that the firms’ implemented ESOPs have higher future stock price crash risk, supporting the agency hypothesis. The underlying mechanisms from policy design perspective is further explained. The results show that managements and large shareholders have incentives to hold bad news due to the unique policy design characteristics of current ESOP regulations, leading to higher future stock price crash risks. Furthermore, it is found that the positive relationship between ESOPs and crash risk is more pronounced in non-state-owned enterprises and firms with lower internal control quality.
