Develop and Test the Relationship Management Scale in the Organization: In Chinese Context

“Guanxi” has become a typical situational factor in Chinese management research. Chinese organizations have Guanxi governance activities. This paper comprehensive Guanxi governance research and the connotation of “relationship”, put forward Chinese governance organization relationship is with each other through contend reciprocity obligation and emotion which can inspire and constraint each other behavior, then realize the organization economic and family goal. We put forward the second-order five-factor model of Guanxi governance through grounded theory, structure rules contain concentration degree and specific knowledge, relationship rules include three factors: interpersonal relationship, interpersonal trust and relationship authority. Through the empirical verification of the relationship management measurement scale, can provide a clear measurement tool for the follow-up study.

The keynote speeches, discussions and the issues raised in this forum relate to the status quo and challenges faced by Chinese management studies and the development of management education, as well as management practices. The issues are raised with the purpose of providing scholars with the reference and directions for future management research.

A Study on the Relationship between Employees’ Positive Trait and Followership Behavior Based on Social Construction View

Based on social construction view, we collected data from 350 questionnaires on two time points to explore the relationship between followership traits and followership behaviors. And we also explore the moderation effect of relational leadership and the mediated moderation effect of perceived supervisor support. Results show that: (1) followers’ industrious trait, enthusiasm trait and good citizen trait are positively related to individuals’ followership behaviors and effects of these three kinds of trait on followership are isolated; (2) relational leadership plays a positive moderating role between followers’ industrious trait and followership behaviors, followers’ enthusiasm trait and followership behaviors; (3) perceived supervisor support mediates the moderation effect of relational leadership between followers’ industrious trait and followership behaviors, enthusiasm trait and followership behaviors.

The Influence of Family Supportive Supervisor Behavior on Employee Helping Behavior: From the Perspective of Family-Like Exchange Relationship

Based on Chinese local culture context, this study explores the influence mechanism of family supportive supervisor behavior (FSSB) on employee helping behavior, and examines the mediating effect of family-like exchange relationship and the moderating effect of employee traditionality. Using a questionnaire survey, the study finds that FSSB has a positive effect on employee helping behavior, which is completely mediated by family-like exchange relationship. Meanwhile,the study also finds that employee traditionality can enhance the positive effect of FSSB on family-like exchange relationship and the mediating effect of family-like exchange relationship on the relationship between FSSB and employee helping behavior, which means that the higher level traditionality the employee is, the stronger the mediating effect of family-like exchange relationship becomes.

Based on the sensemaking perspective, we used survey samples of 315 failed new product development projects and explored the moderating role of restoration orientation on the relationship between failure attributions and learning from failure. The results indicate that internal unstable attribution positively affects learning from failure only when applying “high avoidance-high proactiveness” orientation alternately; internal stable attribution positively affects learning from failure only when applying “low avoidance-high proactiveness” orientation alternately; external unstable attribution positively affects learning from failure when applying “low avoidance-high proactiveness” orientation or “high avoidance-high proactiveness” orientation; external stable attribution has no effect on learning from failure under whatever restoration orientation. The results reveal that the effect of failure attribution on learning from failure depends on the combinations of different restoration orientations. This study further implies that the exact match between failure attribution and restoration orientation helps maximize the learning value of project failures.

Using non-financial A-share listed companies’ data from 2003 to 2013, this paper investigates the impact of controlling shareholders’ pledge of stocks on corporate innovation. Our empirical evidence shows that controlling shareholders’ pledge of stocks attenuates corporate innovation. Further analysis shows that the restrain effect of controlling shareholders’ pledge of stocks on corporate innovation is more pronounced in innovative industries and non-state-owned companies. When taking macro monetary policy into consideration, the negative impact of controlling shareholders’ pledge of stocks on corporate innovation is more significant in monetary policy tightening period than easing period.

This paper analyzes the knowledge resources through knowledge sets and the influence mechanism of continuous innovation ability, on this basis, then constructs the relational model of the virtual organization between knowledge resources acquisition, knowledge integration and continuous innovation ability. Finally, with a sample of 291 companies, the results indicate that the dominant knowledge resources acquisition and tacit knowledge resources acquisition have a significant positive effect on continuous innovation ability, the knowledge integration has a significant positive effect on continuous innovation ability, and learning ability of knowledge resources and knowledge integration have significant positive adjustment effect.

Based on the open innovation situation, enterprises can realize value chain resource integration across technology boundaries and organizational boundaries. This research explores the relationship among innovation partner heterogeneity (on organizational type, technological ability and target), network relation and open innovation performance, and the relationship is empirically validated by 284 valid questionnaires. The empirical results show that innovation partner heterogeneity and technological ability heterogeneity have an inverted U-shaped relationship with open innovation performance. Target heterogeneity has a negative effect on innovation performance. Moreover, network relation plays an intermediary role in the relationship between innovation partner heterogeneity and innovation performance.

Based on the literature of marketing channel behaviors and taking the relationship between manufacturers and distributors as the research context,this paper introduces social media interaction to the channel power research framework and investigates its moderating effects on the relationship between channel power exercising and channel conflict. By analyzing the data collected from 544 respondents, the empirical research findings show that social media interaction strengthens the positive effect of coercive power exercising on channel conflict, and social media interaction also strengthens the negative effect of non-coercive power exercising on channel conflict.

This paper introduces the concept of consumer vulnerability and builds a nonrational purchase behavior model to improve consumer welfare. On this basis, through the review of the research status of consumer vulnerability, this paper redefines it and develops the consumer vulnerability scale for the first time. The results of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis show that the reliability and validity of the scale are convincing. In addition, the data suitability indices of the first order factor model, as well as the second order factor model are both significant. The scale’s first order factor contains 7 dimensions, namely, product knowledge, product promotion, social pressure, refunds policy, marketing and emotional pressure, distinguish ability, and purchase ability; the second order factor contains two dimensions, which are knowledge-based vulnerability and powerlessness-based vulnerability. The empirical results show that the scale has certain predictive validity for nonrational purchase behavior and consumer welfare.

To ensure the green growth of new ventures and from the perspective of organizational legitimacy, the study tests the impact of environmental ethics on new venture green growth performance and boundary conditions through the questionnaires on 223 new venture by using moderated path analysis and a mediated moderation model. Research results show that environmental ethic has an inverted u-shape effect on new venture green growth performance and the green relational capital shows an indirect mediating role between environmental ethics and new venture green growth performance; environmental scanning moderates the invert-U relationship between environmental ethics and new venture green growth performance, and green relational capital partially mediates the moderating effect of environmental scanning in the invert-U relationship between environmental ethics and new venture green growth performance.

The paper takes enterprise’s donation as key point and makes an empirical test on whether SOEs donation plays a leading role or not to offer effective foundation for the representative valuation of SOEs donation. In the research, the donation that SOEs donate more than private enterprises serves as a docking of demonstration donation. Through the analysis of improvement of philanthropic environment and social learning, the paper finds that SOEs donation plays a leading role, in other words, when SOEs donate more than private enterprises, the phenomenon that private enterprises donate less tends to decrease and it is more profound for those private enterprises which size is small and philanthropic experience is little. Further examination reveals that the lower SOEs’ monopoly is and the lighter policy burdens is, the more the leading role of SOEs donation is weakened when thinking about the difference within private enterprises’ identification and attribution to SOEs donation. Further evidence indicates that using private enterprises donation as a reference, private enterprises can avoid blindness of donation and increase its value effect. The paper throws light for deepening the understanding of leading role and its policy assessment of SOEs more donation.

The paper studies product pricing, the optimal effort level of the designer and coordination of supply chain which consists of a 3D-printing platform and a designer. By establishing both centralized and decentralized decision-making models, we obtain the optimal strategies according to the difference of decision model. The results show that a higher sensitivity to customization forces the designer to improve her effort level, and also raises the product retail price. For a given a cost coefficient, the product price under decentralized decision-making model is higher than under centralized decision-making model only if the consumer customization sensibility is relatively small. Compared with the cost-sharing strategy, two-part tariffs and the revenue sharing strategy can coordinate supply chain, but the progressive revenue sharing strategy becomes a more feasible options.

Research on the Influence of Platform Mechanism on Knowledge Acquisition of Content Provider

The direct effect of platform mechanism on knowledge acquisition of content provider and the moderating role of content provider’s technology readiness in this relationship are empirically studied. The conclusions indicate that for content provider, capability-providing mechanism has equal positive effects on explicit and tacit knowledge acquisition from capability provider; interactive mechanism has a stronger positive effect on the acquisition of tacit than explicit knowledge from new service user; knowledge integration mechanism has a stronger positive effect on the acquisition of explicit than tacit knowledge from platform enterprise. Technology readiness of content provider plays a positive moderating effect in these direct effects.

Focusing on the matching process of supply and demand, this paper develops a multi case study on the demand management practice of fashion enterprises. This research deeply analyzes the connotation and essence of demand chain alignment competence, and explores its effective development strategy. The study shows that the demand chain alignment competence has the characteristics of dynamic capability; based on dynamic capability theory, demand chain alignment competence is disaggregated into demand sensing capacity, demand chain seizing capacity and demand chain reconfiguring capacity, and their nature and micro-foundations are elaborated; this paper put forwards the development strategy of demand chain alignment competence and it is believed that three capabilities must be developed and applied at the same time to establish and maintain competitive advantage.

Modern Confucian Yuan-Fen Relationship Construct from the Vision of Management: Review and Prospect

Yuan-fen relationship is the basic and essential link of interpersonal communication. It is also an embodiment and presentation of Chinese cultural traits and characteristics, which permeates all levels and every part of Chinese culture and is implemented everywhere. Therefore, the theory of Yuan-fen relationship can serve as a strong support and an interpretation path for both the theoretical and practical study of Chinese management. Thorough scan and summary of existing research literature show that studies on the concept of Yuan-fen relationship mainly focus on the following aspects: the attributes of Yuan-fen relationship, the development of Yuan-fen relationship, individual interpersonal relationship, collective interpersonal relationship and relation bonds. Based on these findings, the future research could work on these subjects: the development of scaling system determining the connotation of Yuan-fen relationship, cross-cultural comparison of Yuan-fen relationship, the forming mechanism of Yuan for interpersonal relationship, the transformation and overlap of Yuan-fen relationship, the improper utilization of Yuan-fen relationship, and other fields like Yuan-fen-based relationship marketing or brand equity.

This paper constructs a research framework of Human Resources Big Data based on different data types and levels of research topics, and further reviews the existing literature from the perspectives of content data, relational data and user behavior data. The results demonstrate that the study of human resource management using big data is still in the primary development stage. The relevant literature mainly focuses on topics at the macro level, such as talent flow, policy evaluation, inter-organizational network, etc. However, research on recruitment, training and performance management at the micro level is not as comprehensive. In view of this, we have given some research directions on human resources with big data.
