A Study on the Relationship between Employees’ Positive Trait and Followership Behavior Based on Social Construction View

Abstract  Based on social construction view, we collected data from 350 questionnaires on two time points to explore the relationship between followership traits and followership behaviors. And we also explore the moderation effect of relational leadership and the mediated moderation effect of perceived supervisor support. Results show that: (1) followers’ industrious trait, enthusiasm trait and good citizen trait are positively related to individuals’ followership behaviors and effects of these three kinds of trait on followership are isolated; (2) relational leadership plays a positive moderating role between followers’ industrious trait and followership behaviors, followers’ enthusiasm trait and followership behaviors; (3) perceived supervisor support mediates the moderation effect of relational leadership between followers’ industrious trait and followership behaviors, enthusiasm trait and followership behaviors.
