Abstract:Based on 450 survey data collected at three waves, this study uses polynomial regression and response surface analysis methods to analyze the relationship between benevolent-authoritarian leadership, moral-authoritarian leadership, and trust in leader from the ambidextrous leadership perspective, as well as the mediating effect of trust in leader between the two combinations and knowledge sharing. The research finds that: firstly, in the benevolent-authoritarian leadership combination, trust in leader is higher when the two leadership styles have more congruence, and the “high-high” is better than the “low-low” combination; secondly, in the combination of moral-authoritarian leadership, trust in leader is higher when the two leadership styles have more congruence, and the “high-high” and “high-low” are better than the “low-low” and “low-high” combination; thirdly, trust in leader plays a mediating role between benevolence-authoritarian leadership, moral-authoritarian leadership and knowledge sharing.
