Abstract: Objective To explore the latent classes of maternal fatigue in the third trimester of pregnancy, and to analyze the differences in demographic characteristics, sleep quality and psychological resilience among different classes. Methods With convenience sampling, 251 pregnant women were recruited from a tertiary grade-A hospital in Zhengzhou from April to July in 2022, and were investigated using general information questionnaire, Fatigue Self-assessment Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale. Results Maternal fatigue in the third trimester of pregnancy could be divided into 2 latent classes: extensive fatigue group with high situational sensitivity (29.08%) and low fatigue group with positive situational sensitivity (70.92%). Logistic regression analysis showed that gestational age, adverse pregnancy history, sleep quality and mental resilience were the influencing factors of latent classes of maternal fatigue in late pregnancy (P<0.05). Conclusion Maternal fatigue in late pregnancy is heterogeneous and can be divided into 2 latent classes. Women with larger gestational weeks, previous adverse pregnancy history and poor sleep quality have more severe symptoms of fatigue in late pregnancy, and need more attention.

Key words: late pregnancy, fatigue, sleep quality, resilience, latent class analysis
