Processes of Crossing Legitimacy Thresholds in Entrepreneurship
XU Erming,XIAO Jianqiang,LI Weiguang
Under causation logics, crossing legitimacy threshold is an outcome achieved by making rational choices with a goal-oriented mindset. However, effectuation logics imply that it can also be an improvisational effect based on a mean-oriented mindset. Using a single case study of a high-tech new venture, this study reveals the spiral dynamics of effectuation and causation in the process of crossing legitimacy thresholds. At product innovation stage, crossing the latent legitimacy threshold is an effectual effect and a by-product of innovation. It starts with available means and progresses by obtaining self-commitment of stakeholders through communication and social interaction. At commercialization stage, crossing the explicit legitimacy threshold is an achieved goal by adopting rational legitimation strategies including performing on different stages and sensemaking with storytelling and identity claim. At growth stage, crossing legitimacy threshold is a process combining effectuation with causation.

The Case Analysis of Solving the Antagonism of Management Theories or Tactics Based on the Balance Perspective of Yin and Yang of Traditional Chinese Medicine
ZHOU Shenghui,ZHOU Xuan
This paper, mainly from the angle of the Yin and Yang balance of the traditional Chinese medicine, adopts Yin and Yang analytical method and grounded theory to conduct case studies on Tecsun (Suzhou),Haidilao Hot Pot and PDL Company, and finds that management theories or tactics which have their own advantages and disadvantages can enhance the effect of each other (Xianghe) and give consideration to the primary and secondary (Xiangzuo) when they have multiple similar attributes of Yin and Yang, or rectify each other (Xiangsha)and improve the effect when they have opposite attributes of Yin and Yang. This combination can complement each other and also oppose each other. From the perspective of Yin and Yang of traditional Chinese medicine, the opposing management theories or tactics are the irrational state of the Yin and Yang poles, they are not “choose one among two”, but to transcend the opposition. The opposite management theories or tactics must keep in a certain extent (the traditional Chinese medicine balance of quantity or proportion etc.) in order to achieve dynamic balance and improve management efficiency. The operational path of balancing management theories or tactics which are discussed in this paper are “Xianghe Xiangzuo” and “Xiangsha” from the angle of the Yin and Yang attributes. It promotes the development of the strategic analysis of punctuated equilibrium theory and the localization research of paradox management theory.

The Relationship between Leader’s Ego Depletion and Follower’s Ego Depletion:Analysis Based on Trust and Participative Leadership
XU Penghong,WANG Runna,WANG Yao,WANG Liping
Based on empowerment theory, social cognitive theory, and conservation of resources theory, this study explores the relationship between leaders’ ego depletion and employees’ ego depletion, and tests the mediation of participative leadership behavior and the moderation of supervisor trust perceived by employees (including both affective and cognitive trust) with the sample of 69 employees and 69 supervisors from 9 state-owned and central enterprises. The results reveal that leaders’ ego depletion can promote participative leadership behavior, and then lead to more employees’ ego depletion. Furthermore, trust in employees from leader moderates the relationship between leaders’ ego depletion and participative leadership behavior. Specifically, leader’s affective trust in employees positively moderates the relationship between leaders’ ego depletion and participative leadership behavior while their cognitive trust negatively moderates this relationship.

Study on the Effecting Mechanism of Employee Identity Diversity on Organizational Attachment in State-Owned Enterprises
ZHENG Gang
Based on Institutional Theory and Self-categorization Theory , , this research explored how employee identity diversity of State-owned Enterprises (SOE) impacted on employees’ organizational attachment through questionnaires collected from SOE employees. It showed that employee identity diversity reduced the employees’ psychological commitment significantly, and the mediating effect of pay legitimacy and identity type on this relationship is positive. The study enriched the literature foundation about diversity, and also gave some valuable guidance for state-owned enterprises to put forward relevant management policy.

Antecedents and Consequences of Employee Well-Being: A Meta-Analytic Review and Assessment
SU Tao,CHEN Chunhua,SONG Yixiao,WANG Tian
Based on Job Demand-Control-Support (JDCS) Model, this paper explores the antecedents of employee well-being (EWB) and dependent variables of EWB. By conducting a meta-analysis review consisting of 92 independent empirical researches, 239 effect sizes, and 60158 independent samples, we conclude that social support has a stronger effect on EWB, which in turn leads to more affective efficacy in the workplace. Specifically, we find that (1) control/autonomy and social support can promote EWB, but an opposite effect of job demand is observed. (2) EWB not only promotes employees’ job performance, organizational commitment, and organizational citizenship behavior, but also reduces turnover intention. (3) EWB has positive relationships with affective outcomes and effectively promotes organizational citizenship behavior more. Compared with task performance and normative commitment, EWB is a stronger factor that promotes contextual performance and affective commitment. (4) In addition, the measurement used, as well as regional-cultural contexts, can significantly affect the relationship between EWB and both its antecedents and consequences. The relationship turns stronger when using measurement of Psychological Well-being or in Eastern culture context.

Research on Venture Capitalists Investor’s Social Network Centrality and Innovative Performance of Listed Companies from New Three-Plate Market
YAN Zichun,LIU Gang,LIANG Han
Based on social embedded theory, this paper constructs the theoretical model of the relationship between venture capitalists’ social network centrality and enterprises’ innovative performance, using relevant data of 1170 listed companies from new three-plate market before March 1st, 2017 and their venture capitalists. The research shows that venture capitalists’ social network centrality significantly improves the enterprises’ innovative performance, which is moderated by industry structural uncertainty and enterprise life circle. The positive relationship between venture capitalists’ social network centrality and enterprises’ innovative performance is enhanced in the case of high industry structural uncertainty; meanwhile, the positive relationship is stronger when the enterprise is in the early stage of enterprise life circle.

Instant and Delayed Exploitation: The Timing Choice of Entrepreneurial Opportunity Exploitation
WU Xinghai,ZHANG Yuli
Based on the game model, this study analyzes the factors that influence the choice of timing strategy on opportunity exploitation. This study finds out that if choosing instant exploitation strategy, the production costs are lower, the entrepreneur should choose instant exploitation strategy; the relationship between the choice of Opportunity exploitation timing and entrepreneur’s debt is conditioned on competitive environment; the market competition environment promotes the entrepreneur to choose instant exploitation strategy; in the market competition environment, the competitor’s information structure on market demand scale moderates the relationship between the entrepreneur’s debt and the instant exploitation strategy choice.

Unabsorbed Slack, Green Management Practices, and Firm Performance
JIANG Xu,SHEN Ao
Based on the resource-based view and stakeholder theory, this study examines how unabsorbed slack affects firm performance through the mediating effect of green management practices. In addition, the mediating effect may be moderated by corporate political activity. Results from 246 Chinese firms’ survey data and annual reports show that green management practices play a complete mediating role between unabsorbed slack and performance. Corporate political activity positively moderates the mediating effect so that the higher the degree of corporate political activity, the stronger the positive mediating effect is. This study not only deepens theoretical development of green management research, but also provides a practical guide for firms to implement more active green management practices.

The Driving Mechanism of Cultivating Innovative Talents in Industry-University-Research Cooperation Based on System Dynamics
CHEN Heng,CHU Guogang,HOU Jian
Based on the three helix theory, the cultivating system of innovative talents is divided into three subsystems: universities, enterprises and research institutions. The relationship among these three subsystems and the boundaries of the subsystems are analyzed. The causality diagram of cultivating innovative talents by industry-university-research cooperation is developed, and then the system dynamics model of cultivating innovative talents is established. Taking Q University as an example, to validate the system dynamics model, and through the simulation analysis, we should pay more attention to the role of government, the rational allocation of elements and multiple channels to raise funds to promote the cultivation of innovative talents, which are the main driving factors and policy-making references.

Research on Relationship among Imitation Strategy, Perceived Similarity and Brand Evaluation
ZHANG Jing,DU Mingfei
Based on cognitive psychology theory and information processing theory, this paper explores the link among imitation strategy, perceived similarity and brand evaluation, as well as the moderating roles of consumer characteristics and purchase environment characteristics by adopting simulation experimental method. The study reveals the following findings. Firstly, imitation strategy can induce positive brand evaluation by generating perceived similarity between copycat brand and successful leader brand. Besides, feature imitation can make consumers perceive higher degree of similarity than theme imitation, while the impact of perceived similarity upon brand evaluation for theme imitation is higher than that of feature imitation. Secondly, for the theme imitation strategy, consumers with imagery processing mode/in featural mindset perceive higher similarity than consumers with analytical processing mode/in relational mindset, while the differences for feature imitation are not significant. Thirdly, in the case of non leader brand presence or unfamiliar purchase environment, the positive impact of perceived similarity upon brand evaluation becomes stronger.

Sales Impact of Lifetime-Behavior-Based Customer Tier Program
WU Banggang,YU Qi,CHEN Yubo
Based on the data from JD.com, this study applies the regression discontinuity design in a quasi-experimental setting, and examines the causal relationship between customer tier program and user purchase behavior. It is found that the customer tier program significantly increases customer purchase behavior, particularly purchase frequency. Furthermore, we test three potential explanations for the observed results including economic rewards, social identity, and customer engagement. We empirically exclude the first two explanations and provide evidence that higher tier customers have more customer engagement.

The Role of Certainty in Food Safety Risk Communication: Moderation Effect of Trust
CHEN Tong,QING Ping,TU Ming
Communication skill and trust are regarded as two important obstacles in food safety risk communication. Prior researches found certainty claim cannot always lead to positive communication effectiveness. Trust plays an important moderation role between this relationship. Through two studies we tested our hypotheses. In study 1, we found that under high expertise-trust condition, the relationship between certainty claim and communication effectiveness shows as an inverted-U shape; under high benevolence-trust condition, certainty claim positively influences communication effectiveness; neither under low expertise-trust or low benevolence-trust conditions, there is no significant relationship between certainty claim and communication effectiveness.

Optimization of Large Scale QoS-Oriented Web Service Composition Based on Multi-Objective and Multi-Attribute Decision Making
LU Chenghua,KOU Jisong
Through the method of multi-objective and multi-attribute decision, this paper solves the problem of QoS (quality of service)-oriented large scale Web service selection and composition. It differs from the traditional method which aggregates all QoS values into a single value. This paper treats all QoS attributes simultaneously by using the multi-attribute decision making method and employs a multi-objective optimization model to formulate the distance of each solution from the positive ideal solution and the negative ideal solution. We develop an ε-dominance multi-objective genetic algorithm to solve the problem of Web service composition optimization. The Pareto frontier, the set of optimal compromise solutions, supports users of either making a flexible decision or choosing an alternative when current service fails. Experimental results verify that the algorithm has satisfying convergence, distribution, and scalability and its computing complexity surpasses the popular non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) and strength Pareto evolutionary algorithm 2 (SPEA2).

Understanding the Dual Role of Habit in Cross-Channel Context:A Dynamic Perspective
HU Yingying,ZHAO Ling,FAN Si
Based on trust transfer theory and status quo bias theory, this paper takes consumers’ extension from Internet payment to mobile payment services as example and empirically investigates the dual effects of habits and how they change dynamically during consumers’ channel extension process. Moreover, this paper also investigates the influence of different promotion strategies on consumers’ channel extension behavior. Results of questionnaire-based survey indicate that consumers’ incumbent channel habit concurrently generates two opposing effects on their channel extension behavior, which are positive push mechanism and negative pull mechanism. And these two mechanisms change dynamically in different stages of consumers’ channel extension process. In the early stage, only pull mechanism exists. In the middle stage, only push mechanism exists. In the late stage, push mechanism exists and the original assumed negative pull mechanism of habit also turns into ‘positive effects’. In addition, direct promotion strategy always works during channel extension process while indirect promotion strategy only works in the late stage of channel extension process.

The Impact of E-Business Capability of Agricultural Products on Firm Performance
LIN Jiabao,LI Lei,LI Ting
Understanding the mechanism of the e-commerce capability of agricultural products is critical for companies to bring into its potential and enhance economic benefits. Based on resource-based theory and from the perspective of organizational agility, this paper builds a model of the factors affecting firm performance in the context of e-business of agricultural products, and discusses the effect of e-business capability on firm performance. The empirical results show that management capability, talent capability and technology capability have different influences on market capitalizing agility and operation adjustment agility; both market capitalizing agility and operation adjustment agility have positive impacts on financial performance and non-financial performance respectively; and market capitalizing agility has a greater impact on financial performance than operation adjustment agility, while it has less impact on non-financial performance.

Research of the Effects of SMEs’ Eompetence and Network Embeddedness on Supply Chain Finance Performance
SONG Hua,YANG Xuan
We conduct this multiple-case study of supply chain finance which has been mainly conducted by the focal firms from each supply chain. We choose focal firms which provide services for SMEs in agriculture, manufacturing and circulation industries as sample firms and explore the role that SMEs’ competence and network embeddedness play in realizing supply chain finance performance. This study found that supply chain finance is not for any SMEs, but certain ones with competence and necessary network embeddedness. Focal firms will complement for SMEs’ lack of both structural and relational embeddedness. In addition, the interaction of SMEs’ competence and network embeddedness will jointly improve the supply chain finance performance.

Government Subside Policies and Effect Analysis in Green Supply Chain
WEN Xingqi,CHENG Haifang,CAI Jianhu,LU Chao
Based on the government subsidy policies, this paper establishes three Stackelberg game models by considering consumer’s green preferences in green supply chain. The subsidy effects of those policies under the condition of same government expenditure are compared and analyzed through theoretical proof and numerical simulation. The results show that the changes of green preference coefficient and input cost coefficient have no impact on the rankings of the three kinds of subsidy policies; if the green degree of product, the manufacturer’s profit and the retailer’s profit are used as the evaluation standards for those policies, then the corresponding optimal subsidy policies are the policies based on the input costs, the production cost and the green degree, respectively. The changes of government subsidy coefficients have no impact on the rankings of the green degree of product and the manufacturer’s profit under the three kinds of subsidy policies, but have impact on the ranking of the retailer’s profits.
