Abstract:This study takes Shenyang Machine Tool Group as the case object. From the perspective of platform transformation, the paper explored the mechanism of the intelligent manufacturing platform transformation process. Combined with the coding technology of Grounded Theory, the study constructs the process mechanism model. The research finds that manufacturing companies build and integrate the Internet platform technology and intelligent manufacturing technology, and integrate the advantages of government, industries, education units and research offices in the form of strategic alliances to promote the layout of intelligent manufacturing platform terminals, and gradually expand and improve the platform of intelligent manufacturing. Thus, the platform can integrate fragmented needs spreading over space. The study identified the keys of transformation in manufacturing companies that different from ICT and transactional intermediary companies: building intelligent manufacturing technologies, free hardware strategies, and terminal layout strategies. The research further expands the research object of platform transformation, enriches the theory of platform transformation, and provides a useful reflection on the platform transformation of manufacturing enterprises.
