Construction of home-care service standard of social support institutions for elderly people with dementia in Chengdu City from perspective of long-term care insurance

Abstract: Objective To construct the home-care service standard of social support institutions for elderly people with dementia in Chengdu from the perspective of long-term care insurance, to standardize and improve the quality of home care service, and to provide reference for satisfying the need of elderly people with dementia. Methods Based on holistic theory, the questionnaire was formed after literature review, mixed research, and brainstorming. A three-round modified Delphi survey was conducted with 20 experts from 13 units in Chengdu to determine the standardized service indicators. SPSS26.0 was used to calculate expert positive coefficient, authority coefficient, and coordination coefficient. Furthermore, Yaahp12.7 was used to determine the weight of indicators at all levels. Results The positive coefficient of the 3 rounds of expert consultation was 100%, 100% and 90%, respectively. Expert authority coefficient was 0.912, and Kendall's W coefficient was 0.231, 0.226, and 0.187, respectively (both P<0.05). The final home-care service standard consisted of 2 first-level, 9 second-level, and 62 third-level indicators. Conclusion Home-care service standard of social support institutions developed in this study is scientific and targeted. It provides reference for improving the quality of home-care services for elderly people with dementia and protecting their care rights and interests in the future.
