Abstract: Objective To explore the current status and influencing factors of flourishing among nurses, to understand the mental health among nurses, and to provide reference for training of mental health and well-being of nurses from a positive psychology perspective. Methods Using convenience sampling, we used general information questionnaire and Flourishing Scale to conduct online and offline survey in clinical nurses in 3 tertiary grade-A hospitals in Chengdu. We collected data from 300 nurses, with the recovery rate of 100%. Results Of the 300 nurses, the total score of flourishing ranged from 14 to 56, with an average score of 5.49±0.96. Marital status, employment type, the experience of accompanying dying family members and attitude towards death were important influencing factors of the flourishing of clinical nurses (P<0.05), which explained 35.2% of the total variation. Conclusion The level of flourishing of clinical nurses in Chengdu is above the average. Clinical nurses who were married, those with establishment, those accompanying dying family members and those with positive attitude toward death have higher level of flourishing.
