The necessity and urgency of “Facing the Chinese Management Practice” have earned a consensus among the management scholars in China.“Facing the Chinese Management Practice” requires not only focusing on the Chinese firms’ management practices, but also actively conducting cultural comparative studies.This is an indispensable condition for revealing the inherent cultural nature of management practices and having dialogue with international research community.Related to the analysis of oriental management’s some epistemological and methodological limits, Philippe d’IRIBARNE’s work on crossculture management: La Logique de l’Honneur is presented as well as the paradigm on the study of management practice under the perspective of national culture developed by this French sociologist of enterprise.Relevant methodology issues are discussed to help the research on the Chinese management practice to make substantive progress.
