Diabetes Specialty Training for Medical Staff in Township Hospitals: A 43-case Study

Abstract: Objective To summarize the practice and experience of diabetes specialty training for medical staff in township hospitals. Methods A total of 43 doctors, nurses and public health administrators from 11 township hospitals in Jingxian County participated in diabetes specialty training provided byJingxian County Hospital. With lectures, operation demonstrations, video teaching, free consultations, and assistance frommedical community and through WeChat platform,the training covered the basic knowledge, specialty skills, and health education of diabetes. Results All 43 participants completed 10 periods of training, and the qualification rate of theory and skill assessment was 93%; the mastery rate of health education 76% and training satisfaction rate 90. Conclusion Diversified and systematic diabetes specialty training is helpful to improve the prevention and treatment of diabetes in medical staff in township hospitals and provide better service for patients with diabetes in the countryside.
