Studying cases from Geely and BYD, we construct a theoretical framework about alliance, acquisition, environment dynamism and entrepreneurship. More specifically, we argue that under high dynamic environment, alliance is a better strategy to gain technology; under high entrepreneurship, acquisition is a better strategy to gain technology; under dynamic environment, when the firm has high entrepreneurship, acquisition is a better strategy to gain technology.
