Based on ‘face’ culture, this paper explores the golden rules of management from five aspects, which are the essence, the mechanism, the motivation, the effects, and cultural origins. Firstly, leaders should be good at ImpressionManagement, choose the leading style and control strategies that are good for benign interaction. Secondly, It is necessary to have ‘roundabout way’, with which they can turn disadvantage into advantage, and crisis into opportunity; thirdly, they must learn how to “give people what they want”, and implement emotional management, career management, and democratic management. Fourthly, they should maintain flexibility in the use of ‘face’ to integrate and encourage the organization, take measures to guard against the “Machivellianism” (mianzi kungfu) of the organizations. Finally, they should actively guide and build an organizational culture featured by modern spirits, and correct hypocritical, narrowminded and unjust ‘face’ concept, and promote the harmonious development between individuals and organizations through cultural management.
