Abstract:We discuss whether Chinese indigenous management research should focus on “local significance” or “universal values” and whether its purpose should be “constructing theory” or “guiding practice”, and then we put forward“practice localization, theory globalization”. On this basis, we believe that the Contrastive Explanation is an effective choice for Chinese indigenous management research to frame research questions in a multicultural context and standardized research methods and global language should be used. Finally, this paper points out that looking for general rules, integration of global thinking and management practice, multiple interaction of local and international should be the development direction of Chinese Indigenous management research.
