Qualitative Research on Occupational Exposure Risk of Nursing Staff in Treatment of Coronavirus-induced Respiratory Infectious Diseases: A Meta-analysis

Abstract: Objective To systematically review occupational exposure risk of nursing staff in the treatment of coronavirus-induced respiratory infectious disease so as to provide reference for developingan occupational protection management system for nursing staff.Methods Qualitative researches on occupational exposure risks of nursing staff in the treatment of coronavirus-induced infectious disease were retrieved in PubMed,the Cochrane library, Embase, EBSCO, CNKI, Wanfang database, VIP database,and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database from the inception to April 2020.Endnote X9 software was used to screen and analyze the literature, and the 2017 edition of the Australia Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Tool for qualitative studies was used to evaluate the quality of the literature and meta-analysis to integrate the results.Results A total of 13 articles were included and 33 results were extracted with 8 classifications and were finally synthesized into 4 themes: risk-related influence of occupational exposure, appeal for reducing occupational exposure risk and inadequate manpower and materials.Conclusion Great importance should be attached to improving the occupational protection awareness of hospital managers and nursing staff, perfecting occupational protection management system, and constructing a safe occupational environment for nursing staff in the treatment of coronavirus-induced respiratory infections.
