Effect of O-PIRTAS flipped classroom in teaching of Basic Nursing

Abstract: Objective To explore the application effect of O-PIRTAS flipped classroom in the teaching of Basic Nursing. Methods Ninety nursing students in grade 2021 were selected as control group with traditional teaching mode; another ninety students as observation group with the teaching method of O-PIRTAS flipped classroom, including 7 links of objectives, preparation, video, review, test, activity and summary. At the end of the semester, the final examination results, evaluation of teachers and students, and students' self-learning ability were compared between the two groups. Results The score of final examination, teachers' evaluation of learning, students' evaluation of teaching, and students' self-learning ability in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (all P< 0.01). Conclusion O-PIRTAS flipped classroom can improve the teaching effect, enhance the teaching evaluation of teachers and students, and cultivate self-learning ability of nursing students.
