Abstract: Objective To construct a nursing plan of discharge preparation for elderly patients with urinary incontinence and to provide reference for improving the quality of discharge guidance. Methods With evidence-based method, we retrieved the Chinese and foreign databases to collect the literature related to the discharge preparation for elderly patients with urinary incontinence and evaluate the quality of the literature. The draft of nursing plan of discharge preparation for elderly patients with urinary incontinence was formed by group discussion, and the draft was revised through two rounds of Delphi expert consultation. Results In the two rounds of expert consultation, the positive coefficient was 100%; expert authority coefficient 0.86 and 0.82, and the Kendall harmony coefficient 0.29 and 0.34 respectively. The final nursing plan for discharge preparation of elderly patients with urinary incontinence consisted of 21 items in 5 dimensions including urination, disease knowledge, psychological status, assessment of discharge nursing needs and daily lifestyle. Conclusion The constructed nursing plan of discharge preparation for elderly patients with urinary incontinence is scientific and reliable, which provides reference for the management of urinary incontinence in clinical practice.

Key words: elder patient, urinary incontinence, discharge preparation, evidence-based nursing
