Abstract Drawing from the self-regulatory processing model, this study proposes a double-edged sword effect of leader narcissism on team radical creativity. Through a four-wave survey, the results showed that leaders’ narcissism was positively related to leaders’ information closing, and leaders’ information closing negatively affected team information elaboration, which further negatively influenced team radical creativity. Additionally, leaders’ narcissism was positively related to leaders’ novel information searching, and leaders’ novel information searching positively affected team members’ novel information searching, which further positively influenced team radical creativity. Leaders’ perceived organizational valuing of creativity weakened the positive relationship between leaders’ narcissism and leaders’ information closing, but strengthened the positive relationship between leaders’ narcissism and leaders’ novel information searching.
