The paper carries out a detailed analysis of production efficiency by DEA in east china in 2007, and found out that Jiangxi, Anhui and Shandong Province are in the stage of increasing scale, especially and there is redundancy of inputs and insufficiency of outputs in Anhui and Shandong. Then, through further analysis of growth of production efficiency in Anhui, we found out that it changes from a period of rapid growth to slow growth, and the growth of production efficiency gains from technological progress rather than any economies of scale. Finally, after analysis of Anhui and Shandong, we argue that the future development of the construction industry should be focused on achieving the integration and optimization of existing resources, encouraging mongering and acquisition of enterprise assets, improving the efficiency of resource utilization of individual enterprises, and finally achieving economies of scale in the construction industry.
