Entrepreneurs’ Social Networks,Organizational Capacity and Cluster Firm Growth

Abstract:This paper introduces social network theory and organizational capacity theory in the research of cluster firm growth, takes cluster firm in Zhejiang as subject investigated, and takes empirical analysis on whether and how entrepreneurs’ social networks mediate the relationship of organizational capacity and firm growth performance. Finally, this research discovers that entrepreneurs’ social networks has positive impact on organizational capacity;two dimensions of organizational capacity both have significant positive impact on growth performance; entrepreneurs’ social networks and growth performance have positive correlation. Specially, besides tie strength, the upper reachability and openness don’t directly affect growth, but through organizational capacity as a mediating variable to indirectly influence growth performance.
