Abstract:“Alleviating poverty through marketbased approach” is increasingly capturing the attention of academia and practitioners. Based on BOPrelated literature review, this study proposes a fivedimension theoretical framework to analyze this BOPoriented business model innovation. These five dimensions include BOP characteristic, value creation, social embeddedness, sustainability, and scalability. Then, followed by a multiple case study on six BOP businesses within Chinese context, this study inductively specifies this framework to a decisionmaking support model.
