Based on the discussion about theoretic forms of a mature science, this paper systematically analyzes existing problems among current organization and management theories, especially focusing on organizational behavior. It further proposes four possible approaches and strategies to promote theoretical innovation. It claim that a mature science should contain different patterns of theory, and metatheory and those more abstract theories which are used to indicate the nature of entity, relationships among constructs, and the evolution of entity/entities should be more important than others. However, these abstract theories are particularly scarce in organization and management discipline nowadays.
