Abstract:Based on the panel data of 30 provincial-level administrative regions in China from 2001 to 2019, this study utilizes the three-stage data envelopment analysis (DEA) model to measure the efficiency of regional innovation. Furthermore, the Dubin model is combined to explore the spatial effect of co-agglomeration of producer services and high-tech industries on regional innovation efficiency. The experimental results demonstrate that the co-agglomeration of producer services and high-tech industries can significantly improve the regional innovation efficiency but has no significant impact on neighboring regions. Further research proves that, compared with the scale efficiency, the co-agglomeration of producer services and high-tech industries has a smaller improvement degree for the pure technological efficiency of innovation; at the national level and sub-regional level, the co-agglomeration of high-tech industries and information transmission, software and information technology services fails to improve the efficiency of regional innovation; in the central area of China, the co-agglomeration of high-tech industries and producer services or its five sub-industries has no positive effect on the innovation efficiency in the region and its neighboring regions.
