Abstract: Objective To develop a TCM Rehabilitation Health Information Seeking Behavior Scale for Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation, and to test its reliability and validity. Methods Guided by Wilson's model of information behavior, a draft of the scale was developed through literature review, semi-structured interview, two-round of Delphi expert consultation and pre-investigation. A total of 432 patients with lumbar disc herniation were surveyed to test the reliability and validity of the scale. Results The final scale was composed of 3 dimensions of TCM rehabilitation health information needs, health information sources and health information acquisition barriers and 30 items, and it could explain 64.912% of the total variance. The content validity index at the scale level was 0.969; Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.914; the retest reliability was 0.836, and the split-half reliability was 0.853. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the scale had good construction validity. Conclusion The TCM Rehabilitation Health Information Seeking Behavior Scale for Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation in this study has good reliability and validity, which can be used as an effective measurement tool to assess TCM rehabilitation health information seeking behavior in patients with lumbar disc herniation.
