Abstract: Objective To explore the mediating role of job satisfaction between psychological resilience and burnout among nurses. Methods With convenience sampling, nurses from 6 public hospitals in Guangzhou were selected from November to December 2022 and surveyed by using Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, Nurse's Working Satisfaction Scale, and Chinese Maslach Burnout Inventory. The AMOS 25.0 was used to construct the psychological resilience-job satisfaction-burnout relationship model and to test the mediating effect. Results The total score of burnout, psychological resilience, job satisfaction was 45.65±12.36, 86.76±16.48, and 51.59±11.05 respectively. Burnout was negatively correlated with psychological resilience (r=-0.523,P<0.001) and job satisfaction (r=-0.541, P<0.001). Psychological resilience was positively correlated with job satisfaction (r=0.640, P<0.001). Job satisfaction of nurses played a partial mediating role in psychological resilience and burnout. The mediating effect value was -0.273, accounting for 50.8% of the total effect. Conclusion In this study, burnout of nurses is at a moderately low level, but psychological resilience and job satisfaction are at a moderately high level. Nurses' psychological resilience can indirectly influence burnout through job satisfaction. Active measures to enhance nurses' psychological resilience, and improved job satisfaction should be considered to reduce the level of burnout.
