Abstract: Objective To study the current status of nursing human resource allocation in Guangdong Province in 2020, and to promote the high-quality development of nursing. Methods The agglomeration of registered nurses in Guangdong Province was studied by using agglomeration degree. The ratio of registered nurses to health technicians, the ratio of medical staff, the ratio of bed-to-nursing in medical institutions, and the number of registered nurses per 1,000 population were used as indicators to comprehensively evaluate the current status of nursing human resource allocation in Guangdong Province using the rank sum ratio method. Results There was a significant gap in the agglomeration degree of registered nurses in Guangdong Province. The geographical agglomeration degree of registered nurses was 0.28~11.09, and the ratio of the agglomeration degree of registered nurses to population agglomeration was 0.54~1.48. Taking RSR as the dependent variable and Probit as the independent variable, the regression equation was: RSR=0.22Probit-0.63, R2=0.95, F=332.08, P<0.001. The 21 cities in Guangdong Province can be equally divided into low, slightly low, medium and high level in terms of nursing human resource allocation, and the Probit range was <3.5, 3.5~<5, 5~6.5 and >6.5 respectively. Conclusion The present study shows that there are shortage of registered nurses and regional inequality of nursing human resources. The comprehensive level of nursing human resources in Shanwei is the lowest, while that in Shaoguan, and Guangzhou is high. Nursing human resource allocation demonstrates regional characteristics.
