Methods Data were downloaded from Web of Science from 2013 to 2018. CiteSpace was used to explore international dementia care from the aspect of research organization, core journal, co-cited literature and co-word. Results Western countries led by the Netherlands dominated the research of international dementia care. The core publications included Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, et al. There were four hot research hotspots, including safety management of dementia patients, palliative treatment of advanced dementia, burden of family caregivers and management of neuropsychiatric symptoms.
