Abstract his study aimed to investigate the influence mechanism of abusive supervision on user resistance in the context of information systems implementation, focusing on the mediating effect of negative emotions and the moderating effect of leader-member exchange. We selected the end-users of information systems and their direct supervisor as research subjects and analyzed the 313 sets of paired data through structural equation model, hierarchical regression, and so forth. The results indicated that abusive supervision has a significantly positive effect on user resistance; negative emotions plays a totally mediating role in the relationship between abusive supervision and user resistance; leader-member exchange negatively moderates the relationship between abusive supervision and user resistance, that is, the higher the quality of leader-member exchange the weaker the positive relationship between abusive supervision and user resistance.
