Abstract We set experiment environment as unfamiliar members, asynchronous telecommunication using GDSS, and conflicting issues to know how personal intelligence influences the quality of communication: participation, trust and recognition. The result shows that personal intelligence positively affects participation of GDSS users in unfamiliar environment, and indirectly increases trust and recognition through participation. Therefore, in addition to technology, we suggest that managers who attempt to apply GDSS in practice should pay attention to the factor of personal intelligence.
