Abstract This study aims to give the explanation on mechanisms of influence of secondary incubation on emerging industry, and highlight the role of secondary incubation in group innovation situation, and investigate the mechanisms of knowledge creation, knowledge optimization, knowledge emergence and knowledge diffusion in the process of secondary incubation from knowledge’s perspective. Subsequently, the model of combined effect of secondary incubation on emerging industry based on complex network theory is proposed . Finally, Matlab simulation techniques is used to examine the knowledge evolution in the process of secondary incubation, which explains the deep motivation to promote the emerging industry by secondary incubation.
