Abstract Based on a review of multiple development paths of Chinese management research, this study proposes and analyzes four key issues with respect to path choosing, especially focusing on organizational behavior. It further puts forward possible path to developing Chinese management research. The present analyses indicate that there are salient flaws within the current research paradigm in Western management studies. Accordingly, shifting of fundamental beliefs and paradigm of the management discipline is inevitably expected. For Chinese management research being at a crossroads, either examining and expanding existing theories or developing indigenous Chinese theory of management is not the satisfied solution. To achieve longterm and healthy development of management discipline, Chinese management scholars are encouraged to seize the opportunity and develop universal management theories.
