Abstract Oriental Management theory, which is rooted in Chinese culture and is merged with the essences of Chinese and western managements, is a new and modern management one. This theory has developed its own special system, since 1970s. The origin and the essence of Oriental Management were expounded after tree phases during which Oriental Management developed were reviewed. The framework of Oriental Management, consisting of ‘learning’, ‘behavior’, ‘governing’, ‘action’ and ‘harmony’, was introduced.
