first class English journals and 7 famous Chinese ones relating with marketing and services marketing were selected, and the service marketing literature published from January 1st 1995 to July 31st 2004 was investigated. The items, including the numbers of the literatures, the subjects, research approaches, the authors and their institutions, were analyzed. With statistical analysis, the differences between domestic and international literatures in the research focuses and methods involved 26 subjects, and the focus themes and quantitative and qualitative methods were studied by the literatures investigation. The trends of services marketing research during the past 10 years were described, and the research gap between home and abroad in 6 aspects was found, and some suggestions on the future study were put forward.
