To explore the effects of heterogeneity on team members innovation performance, the team-level effects of external social capital (capital structure, cognitive capital and relational capital), cross-level effects and knowledge sharing willingness are taken as team level variables and the performance is taken as individual level variables. The results of the study show that: relationship orientation heterogeneity will not directly affect members of innovation performance; tasks related to heterogeneity have a positive effect on innovation performance of members; tasks orientation heterogeneity have a positive effect on team external social capital; external social capital plays a mediating role of cross level between team heterogeneity and innovation performance of team member; knowledge sharing intention plays a moderating role in the cross level between external social capital and innovation performance of the member. Finally, according to the conclusions above, some management implications are provided.
