Abstract:From perspective of crosslevel sensemaking and sensegiving within organizations, this study conducts an exploration case study on the management centralization of China
Mobile to explore the vertical transmitting of strategic management innovation. The result indicates that: the vertical transmitting process begins with sensemaking activities of top
managers to establish an initial innovation framework, and refers to another two subprocesses: the one is from toplevel to middlelevel managers with leading interaction paradigm and
the purpose of unifying understanding and improving innovation; the other is from middlelevel managers to firstline employees with restricting unidirectional paradigm and the purpose of
unifying actions and implementing innovation. Finally, a vertical transmitting model is set up to guide the practices of topdown crosslevel innovation transmitting.
