Abstract:Based on the resourcebased view theory, we focus on the two levels of information technology capabilities and conduct an empirical research examining the relationship between the different level of information technology capabilities and organizational competitive advantage through the data of 166 organization samples. We found that information technology capabilities at resourcepicking level have a significant and positive impact at the capabilitybuilding level which positively influence organizational competitive advantage. This finding explains how information technology capability affects organizational competitive advantages, which implies significant implications for building comprehensive information technology capability to obtain competitive advantages.
