Based on innovative theory and knowledge management theory, this research form a structure equation model on the relation between performance and knowledge’s assimilation and exploitation. Furthermore, we compare the differences of these relationships in Chinese stateowned companies and nonstateowned companies. We find that the impacts of knowledge’s assimilation and exploitation on performance are significantly different in companies with different ownership identity.
