Abstract:By using content analysis and network analysis, this study further quantitatively describes and explains the topics and their relationships among the existing 124 institutional entrepreneurship literatures. The results show that the existing literatures overemphasized the institutional entrepreneurship processes in European and American contexts based on qualitative methods, but lacked of quantitative analysis in Chinese context. We also find that existing literatures overemphasized the enabling conditions at organizational and field levels and the collective actions in institutional entrepreneurship processes, while ignoring the individual level factors and actors’ behaviors during institutional settlement phases. These two research contents of enabling condition and implementation process of institutional entrepreneurship are relative isolated and thus need to be integrated. Based on these findings, we summarize the research progress and trajectories of the enabling condition and implementation process of institutional entrepreneurship, and also propose the future directions at the end.
