Evidence-based practice of early mobilization in patients with femoral artery compression hemostat after cerebral angiography

Abstract: Objective To develop evidence-based practice protocols for early mobilization of patients using femoral artery compression hemostats after cerebral angiography, to standardize their clinical application and assess their effectiveness and to improve patient comfort. Methods Best evidence-based clinical practical protocols were applied in patients after cerebral angiography. Patients in control group (n=48) and observation group (n=48) were reviewed respectively. Postoperative comfort, incidence of low back pain, and postoperative complications in different groups were analyzed. Results Compared to those in the control group, after evidence application, patients had higher comfort score but lower back pain score in the observation group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Evidence-based practice protocols for early mobilization of patients using femoral artery compression hemostats after cerebral angiography can improve nurses' clinical practice and standardize clinical workflow. These protocols help to effectively improve patient comfort, reduce urinary retention, and relieve discomfort such as low back pain.
