Best evidence summary of prevention of recurrent ischemic stroke

Abstract: Objective To retrieve, evaluate and summarize the best evidence for the prevention of recurrent ischemic stroke, and to provide evidence support for the prevention of recurrent ischemic stroke. Methods PIPOST model was used to identify research questions, and the evidence related to "ischemic stroke recurrence prevention" in each database was retrieved according to the 6S pyramid. Four researchers who completed systematic evidence-based nursing training independently evaluated the quality of literature and extracted evidence. Results Ten pieces of literature were included, including 9 guidelines and 1 expert consensus. Thirty-five pieces of best evidence were summarized from six dimensions of relapse risk assessment, lifestyle adjustment, indicator monitoring, management and follow-up, health education and relapse identification. Conclusion More attention should be paid to the management of recurrence risk factors in patients with ischemic stroke, and the best evidence should be selected based on clinical practice to formulate personalized recurrence prevention strategies for patients with ischemic stroke, so as to reduce the recurrence rate.
