Development and Practice of Chronic Refractory Ulcer Clinic with Doctor-nurse Collaboration

Abstract: Objective To develop a chronic refractory ulcer clinic with doctor-nurse collaboration and to explore its application effect. Methods In line with Notice on strengthening the management of diagnosis and treatment of chronic refractory wounds (ulcers) issued by National Health Commission, a doctor-nurse collaboration team was established. With clear working responsibilities and procedures, the doctor-nurse collaboration mode for the diagnosis and treatment of chronic refractory ulcer was implemented. Results After the establishment of the clinic for chronic refractory ulcer, the number of patients with chronic refractory ulcer increased by 23.9% from June 2019 to December 2020 when compared with that from January 2018 to May 2019 and the cure rate was significantly improved (P<0.05). The satisfaction of patients and medical staff was increased (P<0.05). Conclusion The establishment of chronic refractory ulcer clinic with doctor-nurse collaboration improves the diagnosis and treatment effect and meets the needs of patients. It provides reference and inspiration for the management of chronic refractory ulcer, practice development of wound professionals and construction of nursing clinic specialization.
