Abstract: Objective To identify the research status and hotspots of exercise in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in PubMed, and to provide reference for researchers in this field. Methods The literatures on exercises of CKD patients in PubMed from 2009 to 2018 were searched. The word frequency of the subject words was counted using Bicomb2.0 software, and the co-word clustering analysis of the high-frequency subject words was conducted with SPSS 20.0. Results A total of 1,779 articles were retrieved. Thirty-three high-frequency subject words were extracted, accounted for 30.1% of the total frequency cumulatively. Five hot research areas were identified including the effect of exercise on cardiovascular function, renal function and quality of life of CKD patients, exercise program, and studies on exercise physiology and pathophysiological mechanisms in CKD patients. Conclusion The research on exercises of CKD patients receives increasing attention from domestic and foreign scholars. The research focuses on the benefits of exercises for CKD patients in improving cardiovascular function, renal function, and quality of life, the design of exercise programs and its related mechanisms, but lacks large sample, multicenter intervention clinical study, and there are fewer related studies in the field of nursing.
