Effect of Video Case Combined Situational Simulation Teaching for Emergency Nursing Students

Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of video case combined situational simulation teaching for emergency nursing students. Methods A total of 109 nursing interns from April 2017 to April 2018 were selected as the observation group, and 101 from March 2016 to March 2017 as the control group in emergency department of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University. The teaching method of video case combined with scenario simulation was adopted in the observation group, and conventional teaching method in the control group. The department rotation assessment results, independent learning ability and core nursing ability of the 2 groups were compared. Results The independent learning ability score of nursing interns in the observation group was 124.37±3.66 and the core nursing ability 80.98±2.09, which were significantly higher than those in the control group of 118.15±4.08 and 74.87±3.62 respectively and the difference had statistical significance(P<0.001). Conclusion With an effective combination of theory and practice, the teaching method of video case combined scenario simulation is helpful to improve the independent learning ability and the core nursing ability of nursing interns in nursing clinical practice. Meanwhile, the teaching method improves the sense of career attainment of nursing interns in practice, and guarantees the quality of first aid medical service.
