Abstract The availability of knowledge map is paid more and more attention to by researchers in recent years. We provide visual stimulated matter by EPrime, collect data of 30 subjects by ASL eyetracker, and observe the distribution of first fixation point in different page layout and implicit partition. By the data and distribution, the paper discusses different location at which information appear can bring different cognitive load to the user. To knowledge map which is informationintensive type, reasonably reducing cognitive load is an effective way to improve the availability of knowledge map.
