Abstract Based on the 137 domestic and foreign meta-analysis literatures in the field of entrepreneurship published from 1992 to 2019, this study, firstly, summarizes the themes, and results show that meta-analytic research in the field of entrepreneurship mainly focuses on five themes: entrepreneur characteristics, entrepreneurial team characteristics, entrepreneurship behavior, origins and causes of entrepreneurial outcomes, validation and expansion of entrepreneurial theory. Then, this study points out the corresponding research hotspots and research gaps. Secondly, this study compares and evaluates the implementation steps and important indicators of existing meta-analysis literature, figuring out the standards and requirements for continuous improvement. Thirdly, this study comments upon the theoretical and methodological implications of meta-analytic research. Lastly, this study puts forward the future directions of meta-analysis in the field of entrepreneurship, in order to promote the application and development of meta-analysis further.
