Abstract  Studies on ERP assimilation based on the multi-level perspective is scant so that the relation between individual level and organizational level ERP assimilation is unknown. To fill this research gap, the research question is raised to investigate whether and how individual level ERP assimilation influences organizational level ERP assimilation considering the bottom-up effects. By designing a multi-case study, we conducted the in-depth interviews in 5 companies. The result generally shows that individual level ERP assimilation positively affects organizational level ERP assimilation. The evidence also suggests that VIP users’ composition and power users’ ratio can also influence organizational level ERP assimilation.
