Exploring New Pathway of Management: Qualitative Research Methods in Business Anthropology

Abstract  Based on introspection of current management research methodology in China, this research illustrates classical qualitative research methods in social science, and points out the necessity of rereorganization about how qualitative research methods can be applied in management science. The nature of research cannot be anything but innovation by truth seeking, so there are no shackles of research methods. By reviewing mainstream qualitative methods, this research is to outline business anthropology as an emerging field cross the management science and applied anthropology in the Western, but the Chinese management scholars have limited knowledge about it. In accordance with previous researches, this study moves forward to analyze why management science and localization of management in China need anthropological perspective and figures out essential effect of business anthropology to the localization of management science in China.
